Description

Tungsten alloys could also be used in both medical and industrial settings. Since tungsten alloy(heavy alloy) is ideal for shielding against X rays and gamma radiation. The very high density of tungsten shielding (more than 60% denser than lead) allows a reduction in the physical size of shielding components, without compromising their rigidity or the effectiveness of the shielding characteristics.


They are always used as radioactive source and transport containers, FDG container, PET syringe shields and vial shield in isotope production, transport, and containment. Apart from it, they are used as all kinds of shielding and collimators in gamma radiography or gamma camera, industrial instrumentation, nuclear power plant and clinical point shielding, oncology isotopic, accelerator based platforms and homeland defence like personal protection equipment for emergency responders and large container inspection devices, etc.
